CKS began in 2007 when recruitment consultant Colin Kay decided to use his knowledge and experience to advise small business entrepreneurs on business start up and growth. Having worked in sales and marketing for the majority of his career, Colin decided to study Business Management at university to gain the academic knowledge and theory behind his methods. Having graduated, he then moved into recruitment, focusing on the environmental sector where the idea stemmed to help small businesses grow and help freelance professionals realise the potential of running their own business.

He now consults for small and medium enterprises on business start up, business growth and marketing services. Current projects include implementation of a HR system, writing of a company manual, market research for new business ventures, designing and scripting websites plus online advertising and marketing on websites and search engines. He is also working towards a professional qualification with the ICSA for chartered company secretaries and is studying for his MBA at the University of Durham. He currently works in Spain and the UK with his main office situated in the Netherlands.
